Discord doesn’t let you use custom or external fonts, which means it is a little bit older in technology. However, it won’t stop you from having fun with your friends. Today, we will show you seven ways you can change your font style and make it different.

You can use a discord font generator to use fancy fonts, but most of them are glitched. So, I will suggest you don’t use them.

Instead, use text formatting techniques allowed by Discord to write server announcements, send messages, and overall look cool. So read this blog till the end to use different fonts in Discord without having any trouble.

How Do You Write in Different Fonts in Discord?

Now we will explain various ways to write in different fonts in Discord quickly:

Bold

You can bold your complete text or just a single word of your text in Discord. It’s super easy by using two asterisks at the front and two at the end of your desired message/word to emphasize it.

E.g., Hey, I am **PaperBoy** (You will write this)

Result: Hey, I am PaperBoy (Your friends will see this)

Italics

Everyone likes to italicize some words to give a taunt or express feeling in the Discord message, such as Sighs, Hush, and so on. You can easily change your font to italics using one asterisk at the front and one at the end of your word/message.

E.g., I am going to sleep *Stop me* (You will write this)

Result: I am going to sleep Stop Me (Your friends will see this)

Underline

You can use the underlining to mention something important. Generally, discord server owners use the Underline feature to post announcements and highlight the important stuff. You can do it too by using two underscores at the front and two at the end of your word/message.

E.g., We are creating a new __NFSW__ channel in our server (You will write this)

Result: We are creating a new NFSW channel in our server (Your friends will see this)

Bold Italics

Sometimes it’s fun to mix stuff, and Discord allows us to use multiple formatting techniques together. This creates a new type of font which you can use for writing the messages. To bold and italicize your text together, you need to use three asterisks at the front and end of your text.

E.g., ***Hey, I am PaperBoy, check out my text, bruh*** (You will write this)

Result: Hey, I am PaperBoy; just check out my text, bruh (Your friends will see this)

Underline Italics

Of course, if you can use Bold Italics, you can use Underline Italics as well. So put two hyphens and an asterisk in the front, and end your message with an asterisk followed by two hyphens.

E.g., __*Hey, I am PaperBoy, just check out my text, bruh*__ (You will write this)

Result: Hey, I am PaperBoy; just check out my text, bruh (Your friends will see this)

Underline bold

Okay, So, this one is the last combination of two formatting methods. This one is pretty useful for marking an important text. If someone ignores an underlined bold text, I swear that person is a Zombie.

To do this, you will have to put two hyphens and two asterisks in the front, followed by two asterisks and two hyphens at the end of your message.

E.g., __**Half of my heart is in Havana**__ (You will write this)

Result: Half of my heart is in Havana (Your friends will see this)

Underline Bold Italics

You can fuse all the formatting attributes to create the ultimate font in Discord. So, use two underscores and three asterisks in front and three asterisks, and two underscores at the end.

E.g., __***Hey, I am PaperBoy, just check out my text, bruh***__ (You will write this)

Result: Hey, I am PaperBoy; just check out my text, bruh (Your friends will see this)

Now you know all the ways you can change your font in Discord. Go and try them out on your favorite servers with your friends. Discord is a fantastic app, and you can use different ways to make your message completely different from others.
