A pinpoint walkthrough🚶 covering tools and process to make AI spiral Art.

Every time we settle expectations for AI image generation, someone comes up with yet another tool or a specific prompt, creating AI art that looks dangerously human.

The process is synonymous with onions🧅: each uncovering reveals yet another layer of possibility.

This time around, AI spiral art is taking social media by storm which is why we’ve created this guide on how to create enviable viral AI spiral art with a glimpse at handy AI tools!

Psst, if you want a sneak-peak, check out the table below!

This type of art is an optical illusion with segments blended in the form of a spiral. There are many AI tools, which I will illustrate shortly along with this common prompt:

sunrise on the beach. coconut trees and a distant glacier in the background. hyper-detailed. smooth lighting.

As with most AI generators, there is no fixed formula for perfection. One can try various keywords to see what works.

Before moving on, please note these will be AI creations, resulting in things looking out of place. In further sections, I will use a few tools and post the results.

Getimg

Getimg is a power-packed AI art creator that gives access to multiple image generators from a single dashboard. This offers inpainting, outpainting, AI editing, and more. In addition, you get 100 credits (1 credit ~ 1 image) per month in the free forever subscription.

The process to create spiral art is simple enough and starts with the registration (social logins work).

The interface is straightforward, and one needs to adjust a few parameters to get going.

<img alt="getimg1" data-id="296271" data- data-src="https://kirelos.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/echo/getimg1.png/w=503" data- decoding="async" height="867" src="data:image/svg xml,” width=”503″>
<img alt="getimg2" data-id="296272" data- data-src="https://kirelos.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/echo/getimg2.png/w=515" data- decoding="async" height="859" src="data:image/svg xml,” width=”515″>
  • Model: This field can be confusing to beginners since there are many AI models to pick from. I suggest leaving it as-is and changing (if needed) after generating the first few images.
  • Prompt: Here you describe the image. One can also go with a random prompt provided by Getimg itself and make changes if necessary.
  • Negative prompt: This is entirely optional. However, you can use this to avoid credit wastage and get the desired images from the get-go.
  • Image: This is very important as it dictates the spiral pattern (or anything else) we want to project in the final images.
  • ControlNet: This parameter controls the output style. Getimg suggests using QR Code Monster v2 for generating spiral artwork.
  • ControlNet Strength: This indicates the magnitude of the effect the ControlNet parameter has on the images.

There are a few more options to tweak, but these are the bare minimum one needs to adjust. I will keep others untouched and show you some outputs.

<img alt="getimg-spiral1" data-id="296319" data- data-src="https://kirelos.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/echo/getimg-spiral1.jpeg/w=512" data- decoding="async" height="512" src="data:image/svg xml,” width=”512″>
<img alt="getimg-spiral2" data-id="296320" data- data-src="https://kirelos.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/echo/getimg-spiral2.jpeg/w=512" data- decoding="async" height="512" src="data:image/svg xml,” width=”512″>

The only difference in the inputs for the above images was the ControlNet Strength (1.21 and 0.9 for the left and the right, respectively).

Krea (Patterns)

Krea is a much more straightforward AI art generator. There are fewer things to tweak, and the patterns are already there, although you can upload any custom. Originally, it’s slightly different in that you could train your AI model. Plus, you get started for free. However, it had a waitlist when I tried, so I used its Patterns instead.

<img alt="kreaai" data- data-src="https://kirelos.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/echo/kreaai.png/w=612,h=630" data- decoding="async" height="630" src="data:image/svg xml,” width=”612″>

Besides, you don’t need any registration to try it!🥳

I have mostly used the default configuration, barring the Pattern Strength (I changed it to 0.9 from 0.8) in the Advanced Settings.

Except for that, I’ve input the same pattern and prompt. Here are the results:

<img alt="krea-ai1" data-id="296356" data- data-src="https://kirelos.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/echo/krea-ai1.png/w=630,h=630" data- decoding="async" height="630" src="data:image/svg xml,” width=”630″>
<img alt="krea-ai" data-id="296357" data- data-src="https://kirelos.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/echo/krea-ai.png/w=630,h=630" data- decoding="async" height="630" src="data:image/svg xml,” width=”630″>

As you can see from the above, there is a world of difference in the final output.

QuickQR

QuickQR has a mini-tool, Fusion Art, which makes generating and customizing AI spiral art easy.

You can begin by selecting from the available patterns or uploading one.

<img alt="quickqr" data- data-src="https://kirelos.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/echo/quickqr.png/w=414,h=630" data- decoding="async" height="630" src="data:image/svg xml,” width=”414″>

The interface allows you to set the aspect ratio. Besides, its Smart Prompt uses quoted text as a prompt automatically.

Additionally, you can utilize the Position to selectively place the pattern and just not in the center, as we have seen with most AI spiral generators.

Interestingly, its Weight parameter seems much more sensitive, and even a modest 0.8 from the range of zero to three made heavily spiraled images. Setting the Weight to 0.7 hit the sweet spot.

<img alt="quickqrart" data- data-src="https://kirelos.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/echo/quickqrart.png/w=630,h=630" data- decoding="async" height="630" src="data:image/svg xml,” width=”630″>

QuickQR is a freemium tool that offers trial credits and a bonus if you join its Discord server.

Spirals

Spirals is, by far, the simplest of the lot. It generates spiral art by default, and all a user has to do is input prompts.

<img alt="spirals" data- data-src="https://kirelos.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/echo/spirals.png/w=503,h=630" data- decoding="async" height="630" src="data:image/svg xml,” width=”503″>

However, its very simplicity acts against it, since you have little control over the output and the spiral pattern.

On the brighter side, there are no paid plans, and one can regenerate multiple times to get the desired spiral art without registration.

Midjourney

Midjouney is one of the most famous text-to-image tools we have extensively tested here at Geekflare. You can subscribe to this premium tool and head over to its Discord server to create. Here’s the Midjourney quick start guide.

Personally, I like its cinematic depictions. That said, it’s least known for generating spiral art. Regardless, I would try to see how it stacks up against others.

The easiest option is to add the keywords (spiral art, optical illusion) in the prompt itself since I can’t find anything to upload the patterns.

Here are the results:

<img alt="midjourney-spiral-art" data- data-src="https://kirelos.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/echo/midjourney-spiral-art-630×630.png" data- decoding="async" height="630" src="data:image/svg xml,” width=”630″>

A visual treat indeed!

My pick!

QuickQR was my favorite on the list. Though it lacks a free tier, the flexibility in getting a perfect spiral art is unparalleled. Besides, Getimg is another good one with a free plan for beginners.

Still, you can try all (except Midjourney) the listed tools without paying upfront.

PS: If AI art has piqued your interest, here is a battle to witness: MidJourney vs. Stable Diffusion vs. Bing Image Creator.
