Google’s Chromium browser is a Google project. It is an open-source web browser whose major objective is to make online browsing safer and quicker for all users. This browser is not designed for end-users, but rather for developers or programmers, because Google makes changes to its source code practically every day. As a result, it is critical to obtain the most recent version of this web program. The Chromium browser is available for nearly every Linux distribution, including Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, and Fedora, as well as Windows, Android, and macOS.

Method 1: Chromium browser installation on Debian 11 Bullseye using the apt repository
Open the command line application ‘Terminal’ using the application menu and follow the following steps for installation of Chromium browser on Debian 11 system:
Step 1: Install new system updates
It is suggested that before installing any new package or a software application, refresh your system cache. Therefore, run the below-mentioned command to update the apt packages list of the Debian repository:
$ sudo apt update
Step 2: Install Chromium browser
Once you update all packages list, move towards the installation of Chromium browser. Unlike google chrome browser, you don’t require to add any external software repository on your Debian 11 bullseye system for Chromium browser installation. This application is already available in the default Debian 11 system repository. Therefore, you can easily install the Chromium browser application from there. Type the below-mentioned command to install Chromium browser on your Debian 11 system:
$ sudo apt install chromium
Step 3: Check the Chromium version
Verify the installation process by viewing the installed Chromium browser version by running the below-mentioned command:
$ chromium -version
Step 4: Access the Chromium web interface on Debian 11
Launch the Chromium browser on the Debian 11 system. For that purpose, click on the ‘Activities’ and then move into the ‘Show application’. Now, search for the ‘Chromium’ application. You will see the following application icon:
Click on it to launch the Chromium browser on Debian 11 bullseye.
Alternatively, you can also launch it using the terminal by running the below-mentioned command:
$ chromium
The above command will trigger the Chromium browser application extension and finally, in return open the Chromium browser.
Method 2: Installation of Chromium browser using Snap application
Using the snap tool, users can also install the Chromium browser on Debian 11 bullseye. To install Chromium browser using snap application run the following commands:
$ sudo snap install chromium
It will take a few minutes to complete the installation of the Chromium browser on your system.
Remove or Uninstall Chromium browser from Debian 11 Bullseye
If you don’t need any more the Chromium browser on Debian 11 system then, you can also uninstall the Chromium browser from your system by using the following command:
$ sudo apt purge --remove chromium
