Proxies act as a mediator between your machine and the resource you are trying to access.

They mask your IP address with their own IP so that the server at the other end doesn’t know who is actually trying to access the resource.

Datacenter proxies are nothing but a type of proxy servers that are located in datacenters instead of being tied to an Internet Service Provider or an ISP. It’s a large network of servers located in different parts of the world, allowing you to access internet resources without any hassle.

Bright Data offers around 770,000 fully compliant datacenter proxies, which can buy you optimum network uptime as well as speed.

Benefits of Using Bright Data’s Datacenter Proxies

#1. Cost Effective

Datacenter proxies, in particular, are cost-effective because they live on a large data center with thousands of other servers.

There can be a large number of IP addresses to choose from. That’s why datacenter proxies are more cost-effective than residential proxies with limited IPs that can be assigned.

#2. Faster Response Time

Bright Data’s datacenter proxies are well known for their fast response times. Considering response time is important because when using a proxy, what you are basically doing is you are making an extra hop on the network, which costs you time.

This is crucial for use cases such as web scraping, market analysis, and data analysis.

#3. Wide Range of IPs

Users can switch between IPs from a large pool of IP addresses present for a datacenter proxy. This ensures that you aren’t getting blocked while accessing any internet resource.

Also, the IPs in a datacenter proxy are static, meaning you can use them for a longer amount of time as compared to frequently changing IPs.

#4. Wide Range of Locations

Datacenter proxies offered by Bright Data are located in various parts of the world, meaning users can access internet resources without being blocked geologically. It’s useful for performing operations that involve geo-specific access.

Features of Bright Data’s Datacenter Proxies

❇️ Top Network Speed: Proxies need to be extra fast because of extra network hops. Bright Data ensures that the proxies are accessed at optimum speeds and are reliable. It provides 99.99% network uptime and a real-time network status monitor.

❇️ Great Infrastructure: Bright Data has scalable infrastructure providing unlimited customization possibilities in different parts of the world. You should expect no downtime while using datacenter proxies offered by Bright Data.

❇️ Huge IP Network: The datacenter proxy network is built across 98 countries with over 770,000 IP addresses. Rotate your IPs at specific intervals and reduce the chance of getting blocked.

❇️ Security & Compliance: According to Bright Data, its datacenter proxy network is 100% compliant with regional data laws, such as GDPR and CCPA, to ensure data privacy and integrity.

❇️ Proxy Manager: Bright Data offers a user-friendly dashboard for managing your proxies, hassle-free integration, and many other developer needs. You can also set custom rules for better results, and it also provides logs for debugging.

Major Datacenter Proxy Locations

Among those 98 countries, here are some of Bright Data’s top datacenter proxy locations:

  • United States: 476,515 IPs
  • Germany: 39,165 IPs
  • Italy: 19,200 IPs
  • Australia: 43,506 IPs
  • Canada: 33,022 IPs
  • Japan: 23,804 IPs

Using Datacenter Proxies

Once you sign up for Bright Data, you get a credit of $5, using which you can try creating datacenter proxies for demo. All you have to do is go to the ‘My Proxies’ tab in the ‘Proxies and Scraping Infra’ menu and create a new proxy.

While creating a new datacenter proxy, there are a bunch of IP types that you can choose from.

If you are just starting out, the ‘shared (pay per usage)’ IP type makes the most sense because it’s pay-per-usage based, and the IPs are free.

If one IP is down, you can always re-route the request using the nearest available IP. You get around 20,000 IPs with the ‘shared (pay per usage)’ IP type.

There’s also an option to allow request routing through ports other than 80 and 443, which are used for HTTP/S requests.

Once you ‘save and activate’ the proxy, you can switch to the ‘Access Parameters’ tab, where you will find the credentials and the URL to connect to the proxy. The easiest way to send a request to the proxy is to use cURL. The command is already provided by Bright Data in the ‘access parameters’ tab.

curl --proxy brd.superproxy.io:22225 --proxy-user brd-customer--zone-: https://lumtest.com/myip.json

You can go to Proxy Integration Examples and generate API code to access the proxy in multiple programming languages.

Use Cases

🔷 Web Scraping: Datacenter proxies are a great way to gather data from various websites hosted in various countries without even getting blocked. You can also rotate between different IPs to avoid chances of getting blocked. However, Bright Data does not recommend it use it for targeting search engines; instead, it’s SERP API for that.

🔷 Advertisements: Online advertisers use datacenter proxies to verify that their ads are correctly displayed over various platforms in various parts of the world.

🔷 Data Analysis: Businesses can use datacenter proxies to gather data from their competition or their users in the market and analyze it to level up their game. It is often referred to as market research or market analysis.

🔷 Geological Data Gathering: Developers can use datacenter proxies to gather weather data from different parts of the world. Content aggregator platforms also utilize such proxies to gather local news and updates.

Final Words

Datacenter proxies provided by Bright Data bring a lot of benefits with them. Ranging from being cost-effective due to its pay-per-usage model to providing optimum network uptime due to IP rotation and faster response times, datacenter proxies are a great solution to the use cases listed above.

What further improves managing proxies is Bright Data’s Proxy Manager, by which you can manage not just datacenter proxies but all of your proxies under one interface.
