American Express Launches New Tool to Help SMBs Streamline Spend Management news

American Express, together with its Global Business Travel arm, has launched a new integration that allows small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to manage spend and expenses.

With this new feature, Amex business customers will be able to issue virtual cards for their employees through Amex GBT Neo1, the firm’s spend management platform. The integration combines the capabilities of an expense system, procurement platform, online business travel booking tool and virtual card issuance onto a single platform.

Amex says this integration will equip SMBs with “better visibility and control over a range of employee spend including budgeting, purchasing with virtual cards, booking business travel, and streamlined expense processing”.

“We see businesses of all sizes facing increased complexity managing growth, spending and productivity,” said Fiona Hastings, vice president of Neo1, Amex GBT.

“Growing businesses simply don’t have time for cumbersome expense reports, disjointed budgeting processes, and the hours it takes to rebook and support more frequently disrupted travelers.”

Hastings added that the new offering will help SMBs “overcome today’s spend management challenges” and offer a platform where “all employee spending needs can be serviced in one place”.

The new integration is currently available for US-based SMB customers of American Express.
